ELLA-ES Aspiring ECE Latina Leaders Fellowship
Unidos for ECE is focused on providing programming that will connect and empower Latinas in the ECE field as they deepen their leadership within our communities. ELLA-ES is our first program and was developed with the intention of prioritizing Latina women leaders. The program serves as a catalyst for additional future programming.
ELLA-ES Fellowship
ELLA-ES [Empowered Latinas Leadingand Advancing Educational Spaces]is a 10-month fellowship for aspiring ECE Latina educators, offering culturally informed consejos [advice], mentorship, leadership coaching and training. Discover the transformative impact of the ELLA-ES fellowship through alum testimonials. This empowering fellowship has helped Latinas unlock their leadership potential while embracing their cultural identity and fostering a sense of community.
“The fellowship gave me the space to confront the negative thoughts I carried into leadership spaces, and to realize I’m not alone in them. Leadership coaching helped me show up more authentically instead of hiding parts of myself to appear ‘professional’. It helped me lead in a way that feels aligned with who I am, and not who I thought I had to be.”
— Azul, Alum
“The fellowship didn’t give me something new- It helped me uncover what was already inside me. It gave me the mirror to look at myself and say, it’s you. You are the answer. Before, I doubted myself constantly. Now I stand in who I am— and I don’t apologize for it”
— Vanessa, Alum
“Seeing our culture centered in this program reminded me that our histories matter in leadership. The fellowship reminded me that our lived experiences are not something to leave behind, they are what make our leadership powerful and essential.”
— Lucero, Alum
